On
my own behalf and that of the Management Board, which I am honoured
to chair, we should like to welcome all the members, sailors and
friends who visit our Web site, hereby hoping that the contents
and services herein will be fully satisfactory.
Since
its foundation in 1927, the Santander Royal Yacht Club has had,
has and will always have as its main aim, the promotion and practice
of water sports, especially Sailing, since it is the cradle of great
sailors and regatta competitors who have left our pennant very high
on practically every sea.
For
over 30 years now, our Club has been one of the major organisers
of sporting events, since every Weekend and every national holiday
throughout the year, it organises regattas for large and small sailing
ships with an average participation that presently stands at about
300 competitors and which rises day by day with new generations.
In
these brief lines we should not wish to forget all our predecessors,
who, through their work on the different Management Boards, have
looked after and fought so that our club may be one of the most
prestigious ones in Spain as well as being a founder member of the
Spanish Association of Yacht Clubs, formed by the most distinguished
yachting and sailing clubs in Spain.
Finally,
we should like all our members, friends and visitors to be able
to “navigate” using this new system of communications
from their own homes with all of us and enjoy the Club at any time,
thus remaining timely informed about all the activities, results,
news and events that arise and thus making it possible to use a
tool within their reach to send us their comments, concerns or suggestions
with a view to achieving better management that will be of benefit
to our Club.
